    Perhaps my favourite ghazal, I can never seem to lay a finger on the exact tone Jagjit sings it in, but it lies somewhere between the hopelessly romantic (convinced of the futility) and the truly shell-shocked lover. In either case, it never fails to move, perhaps because I yearn to pour into it the emotion that is so understated in Jagjit's rendering.

    Certainly Chitra's strongest ghazal, this one has just the right degree of huskiness and nonchalance, no sassy attitude that allures.
